MOUNDS, Ill. -- Robert Kekow Sr., 74, Mounds Route 1, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He was born May 2, 1920, in Cairo, son of Otto and Rose Lavellet Kekow. He married the former Opal Bowles, who preceded him in death.

Kekow was a farmer, and member of Mounds VFW Post 8891. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Kekow Jr. of Chester, Richard Kekow of Kansas; a daughter, Patricia Bledsoe of Wood River; a sister, Pauline Niestrath of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
