ADVANCE -- Clarence R. Pace Sr., 75, of Route 1 Advance, died Jan. 25, 1995, at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born April 6, 1919, the son of Harley Clarence and Maude Mae Thompson Pace. On April 3, 1946, at Charleston, he married Merle A. Spiller.

Pace had worked for the Brown Shoe Company in Charleston and later worked at Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau for several years before retiring. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, C. Richard Pace Jr. of Advance, Steven W. Pace of Mt. Vernon, Ill., Greg Pace of Delta and Mark Pace of North Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Patricia Kelley of Rockview, Mary Jean Pace and Martha Pace both of Advance; 28 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one grandson.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Vester Keese. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston.
