Leslie E. Hartsock, 78, of Riverside, Calif., died Saturday, Feb. 4, 1995, at Parkview Community Hospital in Riverside.
He was born June 22, 1916, in DuQuoin, Ill., son of Earl and Nora Belle Norris Hartsock. He and Marguerite E. Childs were married Sept. 4, 1938, in Cape Girardeau.
Hartsock was a stock broker, and had been an agent many years with Metropolitan Insurance in Cape Girardeau. He received the Outstanding Citizen Key Award in 1940, and was a Scout leader with the troop at Centenary United Methodist Church in the 1940s. He was a member of First Christian Church in DuQuoin.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Vivian Bushart of Waterford, Mich., and a brother, James Hartsock of Clarkstown, Mich.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin, with the Rev. Robert L. Dailey officiating. Entombment will be in Old DuQuoin Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to service time.
