Claribel P. Lewis, 86, 327 N. Frederick, died Monday, Feb. 6, 1995, at the Lutheran Home. She was born May 12, 1908, in Caldwell County, Ky., daughter of Hugh J. and Ethel Stevenson Pilaut. She married Merrill G. Lewis Aug. 31, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He died June 18, 1973...

Claribel P. Lewis, 86, 327 N. Frederick, died Monday, Feb. 6, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born May 12, 1908, in Caldwell County, Ky., daughter of Hugh J. and Ethel Stevenson Pilaut. She married Merrill G. Lewis Aug. 31, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. He died June 18, 1973.

Lewis attended Southeast Missouri State University.

She was secretary and director of social services at Centerville Township Hospital, retiring in 1977. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1977, and was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Private graveside service will be held Wednesday at Memorial Park, with the Rev. Neil Stein officiating.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
