CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for Opal Mae Atkins of Chaffee will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Joe Payne will officiate, with burial in Union Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Atkins, 79, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 1995, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Manila, Ark., daughter of Sylvester and Frances Louvinia Statler Wiseman. She and Gus Henry Atkins were married Sept. 27, 1934. He died May 10, 1979.

Atkins retired as a nurse aide from Chaffee General Hospital. She was a member of the General Baptist Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include a son, Jackie Atkins; a daughter, Paula Hutson, both of Chaffee, and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.
