Capt. Morris R. "Dutch' Doughty, 80, of Norfolk, Va., died Friday, Jan. 27, 1995, in a hospital at Norfolk.
A native of Cape Girardeau, he served 27 years in the military. He was a combat aviator and received the U.S. Navy's highest award for heroism, the Navy Cross and the distinguished Flying Cross.
After retiring from the military he worked for Virginia Employment Commission, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sally Clay of Norfolk, and a sister, Jane McKeown of Cape Girardeau.
His wife Charlotte preceded him in death.
Funeral service was held Jan. 31 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Chapel in Norfolk, with the Rev. Francis Collins officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, with military honors.
