CHARLESTON -- Frank T. "Bud" Clifford, 69, of Charleston, died Monday, Feb. 20, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 6, 1925, in Mounds, Ill., son of Frank Talmadge and Nellie Vines Clifford Sr. He and Jo Carter were married July 6, 1991...

CHARLESTON -- Frank T. "Bud" Clifford, 69, of Charleston, died Monday, Feb. 20, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 6, 1925, in Mounds, Ill., son of Frank Talmadge and Nellie Vines Clifford Sr. He and Jo Carter were married July 6, 1991.

Clifford was chief of police in Cairo, Ill., until moving to Delray, Fla., in the early 1960s. He was manager of Jerry Earl Pontiac Agency in Delray, and developer of mobile home park facilities in Delray and Ft. Myers. He attended First Baptist Church and was a member of VFW Post 4294 in Charleston. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pamela Sands of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Janis Merideth of Charleston; two stepsons, Todd Jackson of Delray, Donnie Jackson of Thermopolis, Wyo.; a sister, Evelyn Schlamer of Thebes, Ill., and a stepgrandson.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Collier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
