JACKSON -- Helen M. Vickrey, 87, of Jackson, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 5, 1907, in Kansas City, Kan., daughter of Edwin A. and Ada Maddox Merrill. She and John N. Vickrey were married Sept. 3, 1926, in Hannibal. He died Feb. 4, 1978.

The Vickreys were foster parents several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church many years, but became a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in 1990.

Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Eugene Vickrey of Houston, Texas, Charles Vickrey of Jackson; a daughter, Nancy Kinder of Ballwin; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Raymond V. Epps and Eugene Vickrey officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
