CHAFFEE -- Bertie A. Stone, 98, of Chaffee died Sunday, July 2, 1995, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 6, 1896, at Morley, the daughter of William P. and Nancy Alice Misplay Lee Sr. She moved to Chaffee from Oran in 1906.
On March 27, 1918, she married George William Stone, who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1956.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chaffee and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.
Survivors include a granddaughter whom she raised, Bertie Alice Robert of Benton; a brother, W.P. Lee Jr. of Chaffee; three sisters, Elizabeth Rains of Osceola, Ark., Grace Sauer of Scott City and Pauline Griffith of Palmentto, Fla.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Larry Davis will officiate with the Rev. Nancy Woods assisting. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
