BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Bertha Mae Long of Bloomfield will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jerry Pennington and Kevin Eskew officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near here.
Long, 91, died Tuesday, July 4, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital in Dexter.
She was born July 16, 1903, at Bloomfield, daughter of John and Mary Pruitt Penigar. She and Ralph Long were married Oct. 12, 1921. He died Dec. 6, 1971.
Long was a member of Walker General Baptist Church near Bloomfield.
Survivors include a son, Charles Long of Dexter; a daughter, Mary Stewart of Bloomfield; a sister, Nema Biggerstaff of Morehouse; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons.
