ANNA, Ill. -- James F. Hunt Sr., 67, of Creal Springs, Ill., formerly of Anna, died Friday, July 7, 1995, at his home.

He was born July 8, 1928, in Washington County in Indiana, son of Warner Franklin and Rosa Short Hunt.

He married Eileen Peeler on Feb. 20, 1940. She preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 1965.

Hunt was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include sons, Ronald Wayne Hunt of Las Vegas, Gregory Hunt of Anna, Timothy Hunt of Champaign, Ill., and James Hunt Jr. of Chester, Ill.; daughters, Janet Smith of St. Louis and Terra Farris of Goreville, Ill.; brothers, Iran Hunt of Salem, Ind., and Howard Hunt of Palmyra, Ind.; sisters Louise Padgett of Frankfort, Ind., Mary Baker of Campbellsburg, Ind., and Nancy Fleener of Salem; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
