CHARLESTON -- Elnora Evans, 81, of St. Louis, formerly of Charleston, died Friday, July 14, 1995, at Incarnate Word Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Feb. 26, 1914, in Friars Point, Miss., son of Gilbert and Oliva Caruthers Johnson. She and Goldie Evans were married in 1930. He died in 1994.

Evans was a member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church and its Senior Choir, and was pianist.

Survivors include a daughter, Lillie McCrary of St. Louis; a son, Floyd Wade of Sikeston; a sister, Pecola Warford of Howardville; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Sparks Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Mercy Seat Church, with the Rev. J.L. Posey officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
