COBDEN, Ill. -- Ethel Prewitt, 91, formerly of Anna and Cobden, died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin. She was born July 5, 1904, in Cobden, daughter of William and Mary Chism Barker. She and William Delbert Prewitt were married Oct. 29, 1923. He died Nov. 15, 1976...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Ethel Prewitt, 91, formerly of Anna and Cobden, died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at Fair Acres Nursing Home in DuQuoin.

She was born July 5, 1904, in Cobden, daughter of William and Mary Chism Barker. She and William Delbert Prewitt were married Oct. 29, 1923. He died Nov. 15, 1976.

Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Lavender of Hurst; a sister, Nancy Powers of Fulton, Ky.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Darnell officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery.
