Paul Sylvian McCarver, 85, of East Prairie died Tuesday, July 25, 1995, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

He was born July 14, 1910, in St. Francois County to the late John Perry McCarver and Hannah Simpson McCarver Woodward.

He lived in Mississippi County since 1916, where he was a retired farmer and livestock dealer. He was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie. On July 14, 1935, he married Mildred Bain.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, J. Perry McCarver of St. Charles and Michael D. McCarver of Mountain View, Calif.; four daughters, Shirley Nunn and Liz Molnar of St. Charles, Sue Goodrum of Little Rock, Ark., and Judy Potthoff of Kirkwood; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Jim Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
