GODFREY, Ill. -- Michael L. Fisher Jr., 70, of Godfrey died Friday, July 28, 1995, at his home.

He was born Jan. 14, 1925, in Greene County, Ill., the son of Michael L. and Lizzie Johnston Fisher Sr. He married Betty Bess on Sept. 3, 1947, in Piggott, Ark.

Fisher worked at Alton Box Board Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Fisher of Jerseyville, Ill., and Gary Fisher of St. Louis; a sister, Margaret McMaha of Roanoke, Ind.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jacoby Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance, with Fred Ritter officiating.
