DEXTER -- Verlon Hogan, 77, of Gray Ridge, died at her home Saturday, July 29, 1995.

She was born April 7, 1918, in Perry County, Ark., the daughter of J. H. and Nancy Jane Lee Meese.

She married Joe Hogan at Lepanto, Ark., on April 10, 1936. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1995.

She was a coordinator for DAEOC before her retirement.

Survivors include two daughters, Verline Greer of Cape Girardeau and Jo Ann Davis of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Mary Jo Dalton of Athens, Tenn.; two sisters, Corinne Adkins and Gladys Hartsfield, both of Malden; three brothers, Bob Meese and John Meese, both of Tallapoosa, Mo., and James Meese of Flint, Mich.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a sister and four brothers.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Watkins & Son Funeral Home in Morehouse, with the Rev. Gene Lancaster of Risco officiating. Burial will be in the Essex Cemetery.
