MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Zelma Louise Minton, 81, of Murphysboro, formerly of Tamms, died Monday, July 31, 1995, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Union County, daughter of Augustus and Laura Corzine Lipe. She married Julius "J.E." Minton, who died in July 1976...

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- Zelma Louise Minton, 81, of Murphysboro, formerly of Tamms, died Monday, July 31, 1995, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital.

She was born Dec. 28, 1913, in Union County, daughter of Augustus and Laura Corzine Lipe. She married Julius "J.E." Minton, who died in July 1976.

Minton was a member of First Baptist Church in Tamms.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris McDaniel of Lake Egypt; a son, James Minton of DuQuoin; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-7 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Hart officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro City Cemetery at Jonesboro.
