JACKSON -- Carson Wagner, 85, of Jackson, died Friday, Aug. 4, 1995, at the home of a daughter. He was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Jackson, son of Alvin "Boots" and Bessie Lee Niblack Wagner. He and Margaret Macke were married July 1, 1931, in Jackson. Wagner operated the auto repair facility at Ford Motor Co. in Jackson many years ago, and had also been shop foreman at Brennecke Chevrolet. He was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Jackson 34 years, retiring as agency manager in 1972...

JACKSON -- Carson Wagner, 85, of Jackson, died Friday, Aug. 4, 1995, at the home of a daughter.

He was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Jackson, son of Alvin "Boots" and Bessie Lee Niblack Wagner. He and Margaret Macke were married July 1, 1931, in Jackson.

Wagner operated the auto repair facility at Ford Motor Co. in Jackson many years ago, and had also been shop foreman at Brennecke Chevrolet. He was employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Jackson 34 years, retiring as agency manager in 1972.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Men's Club, member and past president of Jackson Rotary Club, and member of Jackson Camera Club and Jackson Gun Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, retired Gen. Louis C. Wagner Jr. of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Shirley Ruff of Jackson; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Church, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, and at the church from 1 p.m. to service time.
