ULLIN, Ill. -- Charles Bingaman, 73, of Ullin died Saturday, Aug. 5, 1995, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born Jan. 12, 1922, in East Moline, Ill., son of Charles and Bernice Olson Bingaman. He was married to Rossie Hodges on Nov. 10, 1951. She survives.

He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Cairo, Ill., was a member of the Mounds VFW, was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the 456th Bond Squadron of the Air Force, and formerly the Pulaski County Republican chairman. He was also a retired lieutenant commander with the Illinois secretary of state.

He is survived by his wife of Ullin; three daughters, Patricia Ann Weimer of Karnak, Sonja Gambill of Anna and Karla Renee Reichert of Karnak; a son, Charles Malcom Bingaman of Jonesboro; two sisters, Betty Taake of Ullin and Marjorie Travers of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, Gerald Bingaman of Ullin; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Monday at the Crain Funeral Home in Ullin.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with the Rev. Wilma Williams officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, with military graveside rites by the Mounds VFW.
