PUXICO -- Funeral service for Wilma M. Cockrell of Puxico will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Puxico Apostolic Church. Elders Rick Hensley and Robert Cockrell will officiate. Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.
Cockrell, 79, died Monday, Aug. 21, 1995, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Jan. 16, 1916, at Caruthersville, daughter of Jesse and Carrie Meral Wheatley. She and John G. Cockrell were married June 24, 1935, in Caruthersville.
Cockrell was a member of Apostolic Church.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Carl and Dave Cockrell of Advance, Richard Cockrell of St. Louis, Robert Cockrell of Puxico; four daughters, Johnnie Latham and Wanda Henson of Bloomfield, Wilda Ramsey of Innis, La., Betty Gardner of Dexter; two brothers, Ed Wheatley of Phoenix, Ariz., D.L. Wheatley of state of Alabama; two sisters, Clara Stone of Portageville, Louise Adams of Tupelo, Miss.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and grandson.
