GLEN ALLEN -- James D. Reilly, 85, of Glen Allen, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 6, 1910, near Glen Allen, son of J.W. and Maud McAnally Reilly. Reilly was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. GLEN ALLEN -- James D. Reilly, 85, of Glen Allen, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 6, 1910, near Glen Allen, son of J.W. and Maud McAnally Reilly.

Reilly was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received four Bronze Stars, Certificate of Merit, and served with General George Patton's Third Army at the Battle of the Bulge.

He was employed several years with Bollinger County Farm Bureau Service Co. He was Bollinger County treasurer 1961-63, and was postmaster at Glen Allen from 1963 until retiring in 1977.

Reilly served as treasurer of Bollinger County Farm Bureau Board, had been treasurer of Bollinger County Association of Retarded Children Inc., was adjutant of the former American Legion Post 417 in Marble Hill and after it disbanded became a member of American Legion Post 158 at Jackson.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church at Leopold, a charter member of St. Isidore Council 5898, and a Fourth Degree member of St. John's of Leopold Assembly 1740 Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include a brother, Joe Reilly, and a sister, Mary Reilly, both of Glen Allen.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

There is no visitation.

A memorial mass and Fourth Degree Knight honor guard service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Church. The Rev. Bill Huggins will officiate.

Liley Funeral Home at Marble Hill is in charge of arrangements.
