THEBES, Ill. -- Lige H. "Bud" Pennington, 76, of Thebes died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, at his home.

He was born March 9, 1919, at Parma, son of William Matthew and Sadie Ethel Johnson Pennington. He and Carol Hacken were married.

Pennington was employed by the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau for many years. He was a World War II veteran and prisoner of war.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Stephen A. Pennington and Jeffery L. Pennington, both of McClure, Ill., and Dennis M. Pennington of Thebes; two daughters, Theresa Longobardi of Houston and Cynthia Foeste of Whitewater; a brother, Lloyd Pennington of Cobden, Ill.; three sisters, Goldie Glover and Lucille McElarth, both of Malden, and Delores Everman of Mount Morris, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after noon Thursday.

Graveside funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the Lindsey Cemetery near McClure. The Rev. Rick Parrish will officiate, with burial following the service.
