Funeral service for Dr. Harold Oscar Grauel, 722 Normal, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. James Zink will officiate. Private burial will follow in Memorial Park.

There is no visitation.

Grauel, 94, died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1901, in McComb, Ohio, son of George Merle and Eva Grace Oaks Grauel.

Grauel taught English at Southeast Missouri State University from 1928-71. He was head of the English department many years, and later was head of the division of English, foreign languages, philosophy and speech.

He was a member of First Christian Church, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a brother, James Grauel of Findley, Ohio, and a friend, John Bierk of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
