EAST PRAIRIE -- Lucian Finley "Luke" Watson, 79, of Dewey, Ill., formerly of East Prairie, died Saturday, July 2, 1994, at Country Care Center in Pana, Ill.

He was born March 28, 1938, in Anniston, son of George and Lillie Calhoun Watson. He and Mary Wilson were married March 26, 1938.

Watson retired as a carpenter in 1969 and moved to Window Rock, Ariz., where he and his wife served as missionaries on the Navajo Indian Reservation for nine years. They then moved to Illinois.

He was a member of Wolf Island Baptist Church near here.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Margaret Watson of Dewey; two sisters, Marie Hutchison of St. Louis, Ruth Hutchison of Anniston; two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home here after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near here.
