PATTON -- Funeral service for Vallie Ione Walker of Patton will be held at 2 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Chapel in Patton. The Rev. Stan Martin will officiate, with burial in Whitener Cemetery near Marquand.

Walker, 71, died Monday, July 4, 1994, at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis.

She was born April 26, 1923, daughter of Roy and Janie Rhodes Powell. She and Odell Edward Walker were married May 15, 1945. He died Sept. 18, 1993.

Walker was a retired nurse aide at Perryville Nursing Care Center.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Graham of Farmington, Betty Yount of Patton; a brother, George Powell of Patton, a sister, Iva Kitson of Cedar Hill, and two grandsons.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
