JACKSON -- Thomas Ray Welch, 80, of Jackson, died Thursday, July 14, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 29, 1914, at Piedmont, son of Thomas R. and Cora Welch. He and Helen Bidewell were married July 18, 1980, in Blytheville, Ark.

Welch was a bus driver with Greyhound Corp. 40 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Worldwide Church of God. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melina Jokerst of St. Louis County, and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with James Lee officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
