Joseph Leonard "Joe" Nauert, 62, 1448 Themis, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at his home. He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Quincy, Ill., son of Henry and Dorothy Sweeney Nauert. He and Sue Bringaze were married Sept. 8, 1955, in Quincy. Nauert had worked at Crown Finance and at Centerre, Capital and Southeast Missouri Banks. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Knights of Columbus, and Senior Golf Association...

Joseph Leonard "Joe" Nauert, 62, 1448 Themis, died Wednesday, July 20, 1994, at his home.

He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Quincy, Ill., son of Henry and Dorothy Sweeney Nauert. He and Sue Bringaze were married Sept. 8, 1955, in Quincy.

Nauert had worked at Crown Finance and at Centerre, Capital and Southeast Missouri Banks. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Knights of Columbus, and Senior Golf Association.

He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, past grand exalted ruler and Elk of the Year. He had been active in the Youth Baseball League, and Notre Dame Booster Club from which he received the Bob Miller Booster Award. Nauert served in active duty with the U.S. Army National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark Nauert of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Chris Sheets of Cape Girardeau, Janice Bone of Poplar Bluff, Mary Beth Ross of Decatur, Ill.; three brothers, Henry Nauert of Lenexa, Kan., James Nauert of Quincy, Donald Nauert of Arnold; a sister, Mary Jane Wheeler of St. Louis, and seven grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7, and KC service at 7:30.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Rev. Glenn Eftink officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
