VERA M. HILL

CHAFFEE -- Vera Maude Hill, 67, of Chaffee, died Monday, Aug. 1, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 7, 1926, at Caulfield, daughter of Rue and Vesta Duffel Lamb. She married Calvin Poinsett in 1946. She later married James Hill.

Hill was a retired machine operator at Advance Shoe Factory, and then took care of elderly people in the area until 1993. She was a member of Chaffee Prayer and Share Group and Whitewater Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, James Poinsett of Chaffee, Kenneth Poinsett of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two brothers, Francis Lamb of Caulfield, Richard Lamb of Troy; two sisters, Lorene Walker of Pottersville, Sharlet Sexton of Ft. Collins, Colo.; four half sisters, Catherine Huckaby of El Dorado Springs, Claudean Brown of Clinton, Lucille Greer of Schell City, and a grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Chaffee after 6 p.m. Thursday, and then at Elijah Church of Christ in Elijah from 12:30-2 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at the church at 2 p.m. Saturday, with Larry Pendergrass officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
