George Clinton Blanchard, 76, 303 Albert, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1994, at his home.

He was born April 3, 1918, in Vanduser, son of Elvis and Ella Campbell Blanchard. He and Elenor Moore were married April 27, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. She died Sept. 29, 1981.

Blanchard was a truck driver, having worked for Tucker Truck Lines, Midwest Dairy most of his life, and Lambert Vending Inc. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, VFW Post 3838, and Teamsters Local.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ellen Gerlach of Cape Girardeau, Lisa Davis of Chaffee; a brother, Norvell Blanchard of Momence, Ill.; three sisters, Avis Fields, Lucy Reynolds and Margaret Gilliland of Cape Girardeau, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
