DONALD L. MCKINNEY

ANNA, Ill. -- Donald L. McKinney, 66, of Anna, died Thursday, Sept. 29, 1994, at Union County Hospital.

He was born Aug. 14, 1928, at Herrin, son of Jesse Harold and Golda B. Crafton McKinney. He and Beverly Randall were married June 9, 1956.

McKinney was retired co-owner/operator of Union County Oil Co.

He was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Cobden, member of Union County Country Club where he also served on the board of directors, and was a member of Cobden American Legion Post.

He was a past president of the Anna Kiwanis Club and from 1960-72 was manager and coach of the Kiwanis Aces girls softball team.

McKinney served a two-year term on the board of Hospitality House in Vienna, and was serving on the committee for the Laymen's Breakfast in Anna.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1949-1953.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Brian McKinney of Jerseyville; a daughter, Miriam Streich of Maroa; a brother, Neal McKinney of Wheaton; a sister, Ruth Rittmanic of Blue Grass, Iowa, and two granddaughters.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 6-9 p.m. today, and from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Cobden with the Rev. Richard Ryman officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
