ORAN -- Carl Hodges, 91, of Oran died Sunday, Oct. 16, 1994, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Oct. 22, 1902, at Kell, Ill., the son of G.C. and Laura Ellen Whitsell Hodges. ORAN -- Carl Hodges, 91, of Oran died Sunday, Oct. 16, 1994, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 22, 1902, at Kell, Ill., the son of G.C. and Laura Ellen Whitsell Hodges.

He was self-employed, a retired farmer and auctioneer.

He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church or Oran. He was a veteran of the National Guard unit at Kennett.

He married Maude Miller of Benton on Dec. 23, 1923, and she survives.

Other survivors are four sons, Omer and Clinton Hodges, both of Oran, Jack Hodges of Houston and Roy Hodges of Paducah, Ky.; two daughters, Ella Louise Hanley of Moberly and Hattie Mae Bonifield of Oran; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, seven sisters and one grandson.

Visitation will begin today at 5 p.m. at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel here.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Gregory officiating, assisted by the Rev. Earl Statler.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
