ZALMA -- Funeral service for Luther Jackson of Zalma will be held at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. The Rev. Jewell Phegley will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Bill Sargent. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery.

Jackson, 88, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1994, at Advance Nursing Care Center.

He was born Sept. 13, 1906, at Greenbrier, son of Lewis and Emma Davis Jackson. He and Kathleen Stilts were married March 26, 1927. She died Aug. 10, 1984.

A retired farmer, he was a member of the Brush Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member and past master of Zalma Masonic Lodge 545 AF&AM.

Survivors include a son, Charles Jackson of Zalma; a daughter, Beulah Hughes of Advance; two sisters, Ruth Archibald of Bloomfield, Vesthi Powell of Deltona, Fla.; 7 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.
