Funeral service for William R. "Bud" Sweet, 113 S. Ellis, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Glenn Eftink will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7.

Sweet, 58, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 1994, at his home.

He was born June 27, 1936, in Cape Girardeau, son of John and Ella Manor Sweet. He and Shirley J. Ford were married Oct. 19, 1957.

Sweet was a first mate with Mid-South Tower 37 years. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral. Sweet served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Donald, Darrell nd Johnny Sweet of Cape Girardeau, Randy Sweet of Sikeston; three daughters, Joan and Dawn Sweet of Cape Girardeau, Tina Spies of Scott City, and four grandchildren.
