BLOOMFIELD -- Agnes Mary Armes, 98, formerly of Essex, died Friday, Nov. 25, 1994, at Minor Nursing Center at Minor.

Armes was born Jan. 24, 1896, near Benton.

She married George Alva Armes on Nov. 7, 1915. He preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1970.

Armes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Essex.

Armes is survived by five sons, Ted Armes of Sikeston, Dewey Armes of Bloomfield, Leon Armes of Carryville, Fla., and Robert Armes and Albert Armes of Milan; four daughters, Geneva Parker of Kansas City, Laura Almond of Lennon, Mich., Alice Wagner of Flatonia, Texas, and Mary Williams of Lathrop; 32 grandchildren; and 62 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield Monday after 6 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Marvin Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
