LOYD E. MINTON

PERRYVILLE -- Loyd Erwin Minton, 91, of Cutler, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 11, 1994, at his home.

He was born Aug. 26, 1903, in Thebes, Ill., son of Ralph and Della Erwin Minton. He and Lola Irene Gibbs were married Oct. 11, 1924, in Cairo, Ill. She died Sept. 27, 1953. He later married Edith Fern Byrd March 11, 1955, at Cutler.

Minton was a retired track foreman with Missouri Pacific Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cutler, and had been a deacon and men's Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Eggemeyer of Chester, Ill.; a son, William Minton of Perryville; a brother, Cletus Minton of Pinckneyville, Ill.; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at McDaniel Funeral Home in Percy, Ill., from 5-9 p.m. today, and from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wesley Henson officiating. Burial will be in Cutler Cemetery.
