SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Ruth Kendig of Sikeston will be held at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Kendig, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 17, 1904, in DeWitt, Ark., daughter of Thomas Clayton and Stella Mae Holt Wilkerson. She married Dr. H.M. Kendig, who died March 29, 1946.

Kendig was a member of First United Methodist Church and PEO. She attended the Synodical in Fulton and Hardin College.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. John Kendig of St. Louis, Tom Kendig of Westport, Mass.; three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
