CLARA E. SCHUPPAN

NEW WELLS, Mo. -- Clara E. Schuppan, 85, formerly of New Wells, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1993 at Festus Nursing Center in Festus.

She was born Jan. 28, 1908 in Wittenburg, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth Leine Braeuner.

She first married Rudolph Tiedemann on Dec. 27, 1925. He preceded her in death Aug. 18, 1939.

She then married Alfred Schuppan on May 26, 1956. He preceded her in death May 4, 1988.

She is survived by five daughters, Irene Allen, Pevely, Mildred Barnett, Festus, Wilma Bodenschatz, Ruby Wall and Dorothy Hadler, all of St. Louis; two brothers, Martin and Herman Braeuner, Wittenburg; one sister Elizabeth Macke, Jackson; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, one sister and three brothers preceded her in death.

Friends may call today from 3-8 p.m. at the Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville and from 6:30-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held Monday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
