THURSTON SMITH HILL

DEXTER -- Thurston Smith Hill, 80, of Dexter, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1993, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 20, 1913, at Dexter, son of Vic and Iona Smith Hill.

He married Mary Ann Hastings, Feb. 15, 1936, at Vienna, Ill. She died in 1991.

Hill lived in Dexter all his life. He was the superintendent of Dexter Public School and an educator for 41 years.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter.

Survivors include a son, Ronald T. Hill of Dexter; two daughters, Marilyn Lincoln of Alexandria, Va., Sue Hellwege of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Ruth Smith of Arvada, Colo., Eloise Trammell of Dexter; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Duke Tallbert officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
