ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Howard "Booter" Nimmo of Anna will be held at 1 p.m. today at Norris and Son Funeral Chapel in Jonesboro. The Rev. Clifton Lingle will officiate, with burial in Dongola American Legion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to service time.

Nimmo, 78, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 1994, at the VA Medical Center in Marion.

He was born Sept. 21, 1915, at Balcom, son of Raymond and Muriel Toler Nimmo.

Nimmo was a retired highway maintenance worker, and veteran of World War II. He was a member of Anna VFW, Anna Moose Lodge, and U.S. Trotting Association.

Survivors include a son, Weldon Nimmo, a daughter, Sharon Poole, a sister, Peggy Walter, all of Anna; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
