SIKESTON -- David Lee Magee, 14, Sikeston Route 4, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 1994, in the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center, from injuries received when a shotgun he was cleaning accidentally discharged.

He was born April 14, 1979, in Sikeston, son of Albert W. and Marilyn Sue Magee Layton. He was an eighth grade student at Sikeston Junior High School.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Shawn Parden and Michael Layton of the home; paternal grandfather, R.T. Reed of Blytheville, Ark.; maternal grandmother, Mary Magee, Sikeston Route 4, and maternal great-grandfather, J.W. Magee of Miner.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dariel Hodge will officiate, with burial in Armer Cemetery near Bertrand.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
