ANNA, Ill. -- Carl W. Edmonds, 69, of Anna, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994, at Union County Hospital. He was born June 27, 1924, in West Frankfort, son of Loren and Ada Johnson Edmonds. He and Mary Lyerly were married July 4, 1948. Edmonds was a retired truck driver with ABF. ANNA, Ill. -- Carl W. Edmonds, 69, of Anna, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994, at Union County Hospital.

He was born June 27, 1924, in West Frankfort, son of Loren and Ada Johnson Edmonds. He and Mary Lyerly were married July 4, 1948.

Edmonds was a retired truck driver with ABF. He was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church, Anna Masonic Lodge 520, Oasis Shrine in Belleville, and Teamsters Local in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Randy and Rod Edmonds of Anna, Rob Edmonds of Edwardsville; two daughters, Becky Tripp of Anna, Betsy Welby of St. Louis; a brother, Earl Edmonds of Anna; six grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Anna Heights Church. The Revs. Al Slayter and Scott Harner will officiate, with burial in Anna Cemetery.

Friends may call at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4-8 p.m. today.
