ANNA, Ill. -- Tressie Carter, 85, of Anna died Saturday, Jan. 22, 1994 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born De.c 1, 1908 in Anna, the daughter of Frank and Catherine Brasel Carter. She was born De.c 1, 1908 in Anna, the daughter of Frank and Catherine Brasel Carter. She married Everett Carter on Aug. 29, 1929. He preceded her in death April 28, 1971.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna and was a retired caseworker for the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She was a member of the SIU Alumni Association and of Beta Sigma Phi, Xi Theta Omicron chapter in Anna.

She is survived by a nephew, Donald Keller of Unatilla, Fla.; two great-nieces and two great nephews.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Anna Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna today from 5-8 p.m.
