JONESBORO, Ill. -- Carl A. Lingle, 80, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 1994, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Sept. 10, 1913, in Union County, son of Charles E. and Edith Dillow Lingle. He and Esther Crumbley were married Jan. 11, 1933. She died Dec. 15, 1986.

Lingle was a retired farmer, and member of First Baptist Church at Mill Creek.

Survivors include a son, Alfred Lingle of Jonesboro; a daughter, Bettie Lentz of Collinsville; a brother, Kenneth Lingle of Tamms; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Norris and Son Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Gene Hart will officiate, with burial in St. John's Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
