JACOB VAVRIK

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Jacob Vavrik, 83, of Jonesboro, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 1994, at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born July 15, 1910, at Chicago Heights, Ill., son of Andrew and Anna Ruczek Vavrik.

He married Lorraine Edwards, March 9, 1930.

Vavrik retired from working with the Victor Dana Gasket Company of Chicago.

He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and Local 1648 UAW.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Clyde Vavrik of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Yvonne Marasco of Wood Dale, Ill.; a sister, Elizabeth C. Solil of Glendale, Calif.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. today.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna, with Father Tom Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in the Anna Cemetery.
