SIKESTON -- Claude L. Crowley, 60, Salem Route 4, died Monday, Feb. 14, 1994, at Salem Memorial Hospital.

He was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Morehouse, son of Ray R. and Yutteve Treece Crowley. He and Jeanne Sams were married in 1957. He later married Linda Dopuch in 1986.

Crowley had lived in Salem 14 years. He co-founded Consolidated Grain and Barge Co. of St. Louis in 1968. He also owned a ranch in Salem where he bred and raised Tennessee Walking horses. He was president of Dent County Bank and Trust Co. in Salem, and had served on its board of directors since Jan. 2, 1985.

Crowley was a member of National Board of Directors of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association, member of Advisory Council for the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration 1985-87, and president of Friends of the Horse Show.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan and Becky Crowley of Sikeston; two brothers, Dennis Crowley of Morehouse, Jerry Crowley of Sikeston, and a grandson.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel at noon Friday.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Rick Adams officiating. Private burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
