MORTON B. DOWNS

Funeral service for Morton B. "Flappy" Downs of Owensboro, Ky., was held Feb. 11 at James H. Davis Memorial Chapel in Owensboro. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Downs, 90, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 1994, at Mercy Hospital.

A native of Livermore, Ky., he was a retired grocer and credit manager. He was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church.

Downs first married Rebecca Dawson, who died in 1983. He later married Evelyn Panagos.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Morton Downs Jr. and Robert Downs of Owensboro, Stanley Downs of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, George Panagos of Santa Fe, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Patsy Payne of Lakewood, Colo., Janie Hancock of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Fay Dean of Waverly, Ohio; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren, and eight great-stepgrandchildren.
