MAVIS BRYANT

MOREHOUSE -- Funeral service for Mavis Bryant of Morehouse was held Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Dolan Rogers officiated, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.

Bryant, 76, died Monday, March 7, 1994, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

She was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Redford, daughter of Grover Cleveland and Lura Bell Welch Brawley. She and Marshall F. Bryant were married Feb. 1, 1941, at Morehouse.

Bryant had live here since the late 1930s. She was a member of First Nazarene Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Marshall Bryant of Memphis, Tenn., Norman Vickers of Segoville, Texas; a daughter, Barbara Lawrence of Morehouse; two sisters, Alpha Lacy and Virginia Ferrell of Morehouse; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.
