DITTMER -- Robert Edwin McDowell, 64, of Dittmer, died Sunday, March 20, 1994, at his home.

He was born April 21, 1929, at Silver Lake, son of Robert and Mabel Layton McDowell. His wife, Mary Lou, died April 30, 1979.

McDowell was a retired transformer winder at Winder Electric.

Survivors include three daughters, Catherine Larson of Dittmer, Brenda Cordia of Herculaneum, Linda Clinton of High Ridge; six sons, Wayne McDowell of Hillsboro, Robert McDowell of Pevely, Warren McDowell of Imperial, Stephen McDowell of High Ridge, Dennis McDowell of Fenton; his father of Perryville; two brothers, Arthur and Carl McDowell of Perryville; three sisters, Mary Taylor, Monica Gibbar and Christine Hahn of Perryville; 15 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 5-9 p.m. today, and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The wake is at 7 tonight.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake. The Rev. Charles Rice will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
