BLOOMFIELD -- Maxine Underwood, 69, of Bloomfield, died Friday, June 10, 1994, at Dexter Nursing Center in Dexter.
She was born Sept. 21, 1924, at Bloomfield, daughter of Warner and Erma Harris Christian. She and Norman Underwood were married July 2, 1946.
Underwood was employed at Elder Manufacturing Co., and drove the city bus several years. She was a member of First General Baptist Church, and Bloomfield Chapter 385 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary Underwood of Austin, Texas; her mother of Bloomfield; three brothers, Harold Christian of Madison, Ill., Allen Christian of Dexter, Charles Christian of Bloomfield; four sisters, Geneva Lewis of Dexter, Virginia Milner of Bloomfield, Dean Kirby of Barstow, Ky., Betty McDougal of Sikeston, and two grandsons.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kevin Eskew officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
