Myrtle L. Allen, 93, of Webster Groves, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, June 17, 1994 at LaClede Groves Lutheran Convalescent Center in Webster Groves.

She was born Dec. 25, 1900 at Neelys Landing, daughter of John A. Watkins and Louise Abernathy Watkins.

She married Dewey Allen on Dec. 19, 1922, at Benton, Mo. He preceded her in death Aug. 1, 1979.

She was a school teacher in rural Cape County from 1919 to 1922. She was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughters Betty Phillips, Kirkwood, and Anita Klasing, Indianapolis, Ind.; a brother, Bill Watkins, Affton, Mo.; two sisters, Jewel Goodson and Dorothy Grebe, both of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Service will be held at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel Monday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Neil Stein and Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday at the funeral home between 4 and 8 p.m.
